The Coalition of Escondido Mobile/Manufactured Home Voters (CEMV) has been established to better communicate the desires of the Mobile/Manufactured Home Owners of Escondido. CEMV is designed to unite the voters of all Escondido Mobile/Manufactured Home Parks for the November 2010 elections; to bring about a change of attitude on the City Council.
In the past, the City Council — which sits as the Rent Review Board for Mobile/Manufactured Home Parks — has "rubber-stamped" short-form rent increases. In hearing after hearing, one park after another, the Council approves rent increases and show contempt for Mobile/Manufactured Homeowners.
For the upcoming election in November 2010 and for the matters which affect Mobile/Manufactured Homeowners we will send a message to our City Council that we will not be treated as second class citizens any longer, and that we are tired of being pushed around. We will identify candidates that will listen to us and then we will support them vigorously.
