Below is the analysis, history and currently amended wording of Senate Bill 444.
SB 444 amends section 66427.5 of the Government Code.
SB 444 changes the language of the California Map Code that regulates the conversion process for mobile home parks. Currently, park owners are required to survey the residents of the parks - during the conversion hearing process - to determine the level of acceptance for the conversion of the park. Unfortunately, while the survey results are submitted, the results are not allowed to be weighted in the decision of the local authority in granting or denying the application for conversion.
SB 444 adds instruction to the local authorities that the results of the survey of residents is required in their decision making process.
