Whether your HOA was established last month, or last decade, there are always opportunities to strengthen your HOA inside your park.

Social Gatherings
We can't forget that to be successful, your HOA needs the backing and support of the majority of the residents of your park. To achieve this, building camaradarie and relationships among the residents is a first and crucial step. The easiest way to go about this is through social gatheringns and events. Pot lucks and meals, speakers, games and movies are just some of the social events that your HOA can hold to build friendships among residents. Making HOA meetings fun events that your residents will want to attend is key.

If you have an idea for events, or some suggestions from experience about what works and what doesn't, please visit the HOA411 Forum and leave a post.

Fundraisers
You can't hold these events and have the supplies that you'll need without raising some funds. There are many ways that you can generate funds for your treasury. Direct solicitation, 50/50 raffles, contests, fees for meals, etc. are all ways that you can raise funds for the treasury and to accomplish goals that your HOA may have. Don't forget that your owner may also want to participate with the HOA, whether providing full funding or partial funding for events and activities. Speaking with your management or owners on this issue is a great resource.

Again, if you have suggestions or warnings for fundraising, please visit our HOA411 Forum and leave your post.

Ad Hoc Committees
Getting others to support the HOA may be accomplished by asking for volunteers to participate in the workings of the HOA. The development of HOA ad hoc committees gets people involved with the everyday life of your park and keeps their interest up. Committees such as Welcome Committee (greet new residents), Sunshine Committee (cards for birthdays and anniversaries), Activites Committee (you get the idea) all serve to get people involved and interested.
