Things To Watch For
There are some interesting things that have already taken shape for our new council. Some of these decisions can be disastrous for us and some of these things will prove to make our job more difficult. Bottom line: Things are not getting any better for us this or the next couple of years.

Hotel Approval and Moving Forward
On Wednesday evening the City Council approved (4-1) the downtown Marriott Hotel project. We believe that this is the beginning of the end for the council as we know it.
It was an interesting mix in the crowd on Wednesday, as there were quite a few people in opposition to the hotel project; ordinary folks who love this city and want to see it solve its problems before it makes new ones. AB761 Dead On Arrival!
It seems that the power of the m/mh community keeps getting stronger and stronger!
The bill that was supported by the park owners that would destroy the effectiveness of vacancy control has failed. The Senate Judiciary Committee did not want to even take up the matter, as there were missing members when the matter came up for vote late Tuesday evening.

It's a Free-For-All at City Hall
Ever see those stories on the news where a store, somewhere like New York, opens its doors to a crush of maniacal brides-to-be to get free wedding dresses, or discounted wedding dresses. I often think I'd hate to be an emergency medical worker on those days.
